October Favorites

I really haven't been wearing makeup all that much this month, but what I have been using I have been absolutely loving. It's been one of those months when I've been sick, red, and haven't been getting much sleep so, my skin has needed some help. I have also found other uses for previous favorites, which makes them even bigger favorites since I get so much use out of them.

Elf Mineral Infused Primer

My skin is SO incredibly dry right now, and I would not get by wearing even a very moisturizing foundation without out this primer. It's very affordable and great for dry skin.

This is just a FANTASTIC setting powder. It works really well for me, and I have very dry skin, as I've mentioned. It  just does a great job of setting my makeup, and I've even been using it to set my concealer under my eyes. It gives a beautiful glow, and doesn't bring out dry patches. I have had a real problem with other powders oxidizing on me.

Pumpkin and Poppy Debutante Cream Blush
I can't rave enough about this cream blush. It's absolutely beautiful. It gives an amazing finish and is a very natural, pretty color for the cheeks. this can also be used on the eyes and lips.

Pumpkin and Poppy Cave of Wonders
When I haven't even been bothered to put on Debutante, I have been using this as a blush. It works really well when you're in a hurry, or, in my case, when you're too sick to mess with too many products, but you still want to look put together.

Pumpkin and Poppy Lady of Light cream highlighter
This is the PERFECT highlighter. I will be posting swatches and more detailed pictures this week, hopefully.

I FINALLY ran out of the other concealer I was using and chose this to try as my next concealer. I adore it. It's creamy, it blends beautifully, and it looks just like skin. It's also a dead on match for me. I love it and highly recommend it. I use it both on my face and under my eyes.

Wet N' Wild Comfort Zone palette
This is a great palette for fall. I love the greens and browns in here, and all the colors work so well together. It's been super easy for me to put together quick looks with this that look like I put a lot of effort into them.

I just love this color. It's beautiful for fall, and it just makes me happy when I'm wearing it.

My lips have been super chapped, and they usually stay that way all the time. This is a great chap stick that's very inexpensive and gets the job done.

I hope everyone has a lovely, safe Halloween! I would love to see what your favorites are this month so, link me to your youtube videos, blog posts, or just tell them to me in a comment.

Update

I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm still alive. I was sick last week, and I've spent today catching up on some housework. I'll be posting my October favorites hopefully within the next couple of days.
I will also be ordering the rest of what I'm going to be getting from the Pumpkin and Poppy One Ring Collection this week so, I will be doing an overview of that soon.
I hope you guys are having a great week, and please stay safe if you are in the path of all these storms.

I Love Fall Tag

  1. Favorite Fall Lip Product? This would have to be my OCC Lip Tar in Lydia. It's a fantastic fall color.
  2. Favorite Fall Nail Polish? I haven't been wearing nail polish lately, because I absolutely cannot stand the smell, and my nails peel and break if I wear it. I have my eyes on Storm from the new Zoya fall collection. I've been waiting to try Zoya polishes, because I've heard the smell isn't as obnoxious and they're not as bad for your nails.
  3. Favorite Starbucks fall drink? I actually had a pumpkin spice latte for the first time this year tonight at my local coffee shop. I hate to be cliche, but that's my favorite!
  4. Favorite Fall Candle? I don't have one. I am scared to keep candles in my house, because I don't want to burn my house down. I am extremely scatter-brained >.<
  5. Favorite Fall Scarf or Accessory? I'm gonna have to say the scarf my mother-in-law crocheted me last year. I looooove it.
  6. Haunted House, Haunted Hay Ride, or Haunted Corn Maze? All of the above. If I had to choose one, it would be the haunted house.
  7. Favorite Halloween movie? The Nightmare Before Christmas. I watch it every single year with my sister.
  8. Favorite candy to eat on Halloween? I'm going to have to agree with the lovely Dani. Reese's cups!\
  9. What are you dressing up as for Halloween? A panda! I was a panda a couple of years ago, but since I don't have the funds or time to think of a new idea, I'm going to be a "sexy panda" this year. I'm going to wear a black and white smokey eye with some sexy false lashes =D
  10. What is your favorite thing about Fall? The cooler weather and the colors. I hate warm weather. I love crisp air and cool breezes.

Sugarpill Heartbreaker Swatches

I've had this palette for a couple of months now, and I LOVE it. This was my first Sugarpill purchase, and I am not at all disappointed. After hearing so much about the brand on Youtube, I really wanted to try some eye shadows. When the Heartbreaker palette came out, it was love at first sight.
All these shadows are very vibrant and pigmented, which is lots of fun for color lovers like myself. All these shades have a slight shimmer to them (in Mochi's case, more like a sheen) but it doesn't really transfer onto the lid. My favorite color out of the four has to be Mochi. It's also the most pigmented.

Shiro Cosmetics Overview and Swatches

I learned of Shiro Cosmetics through a blog post A Bit Prissy did featuring some products from a collection based off of the anime Full Metal Alchemist. I was immediately intrigued, because I am a huge fan of anime. I immediately headed over to the website to discover that not only was there a Full Metal Alchemist collection, but there was a LEGEND OF ZELDA COLLECTION. I am a HUGE gamer. One could call me a nerd. My all time favorite games are the Legend of Zelda games. They have been since I picked up an SNES controller and started A Link to the Past. I actually have a massive tattoo on my leg of the Hylian Crest. As can be expected, when I saw that collection I had a bit of a spazz moment. There was dancing involved.
I decided to purchase two colors from the Full Metal collection and one color from the Legends collection. I WILL be getting more products from her, as I am very pleased with what I purchased.

Master Sword is a very sparkly pale taupe.

Housewife is a pale greige with a shimmery finish.

Equivalent Exchange is a dark, slightly blue toned purple with bright purple sparkles.

Left to Right: Master Sword, Housewife, Equivalent Exchange

All of these colors are extremely pigmented and swatched beautifully on my skin without any primer.
You can get samples of these colors for $1.00, a small size (1 gram) for $3.50, or a full size (2 grams) for $5.00. When I received my order, she had even included a box of nerds and another little candy thing for Halloween. I thought that was sweet. No pun intended.
She also included two samples:
Epona is a soft brown with a cream overlay, and Chimera is a tarnished gold and silver shimmer over a blackened background.

White Rabbit Beauty

I just received some samples I ordered from White Rabbit Beauty and decided that I would do a quick post about this company.
This is a website that has all cruelty free products. They offer very generous samples at a ridiculously low price so that you can try things before you buy them.
When you purchase from White Rabbit Beauty, a portion of your purchase goes to two charities that you choose from the options available.
The shipping is free for makeup items and very low for skin care.
The thing that really made me want to write this is that Jean, the owner, includes sweet little notes with the orders. I ordered two foundation samples, which totaled up to six dollars including shipping, and she still was kind enough to include a note.

"Hi Andrea,
I hope you find a good match with the samples.
Happy Autumn!
Jean"

I just thought this was so thoughtful and sweet. Definitely go check out whiterabbitbeauty.com

FOTD : Forest Nymph

Yesterday, I got a TON of cleaning done so, I wanted to take today to experiment with make-up. I usually only have time to do this while my daughter naps, and I take every opportunity. I wanted to experiment with the Pumpkin and Poppy cream shadow in Louis, and I really like the way this turned out. Keep in mind when looking at the photo that a little more of the green shows through than my camera will pick up, to my frustration. I think this eye look can be used for a forest nymph or fairy costume for Halloween when paired with wings and things like that. Also, forgive the state of my skin. We are not getting along of late.
